Working from home sounds like the dream, right? Pajamas, coffee on tap, and no commute. But let’s be honest—it can also feel like a never-ending blend of work, family, chores, and side hustle tasks, especially if you’re building a business like network marketing on the side.

So how do you stay organized, get things done, and still keep your sanity?

It all starts with two things: clear boundaries and smart time management.

How To Create Boundaries When Working From Home

Let’s talk about how to set those boundaries and take back control of your time.

1. Define Your “Work Time” and “Home Time”
One of the biggest challenges of working from home is that everything blends together. You’re answering emails while folding laundry or taking a client call with kids in the background. It’s a lot.

Try this:
• Create a work schedule, even if it’s just a few focused hours a day.
• Let your family know when you’re “at work” (even if it’s just in the corner of your living room).
• Use a visual cue—like closing a door or putting on headphones—as a signal that you’re focused.

Pro tip: If your side hustle is network marketing, you don’t need 10 hours a day. You need intentional, focused pockets of time to connect, follow up, post, and grow.

2. Time Block Like a Boss
Time blocking isn’t just for CEOs—it’s for moms, entrepreneurs, and anyone with a lot on their plate.

This is one of the best time management tools you can use to stay productive and organized.

Here’s how to do it:
1. Start by listing out all the tasks you need to do—work, business, home, self-care.
2. Prioritize the most important 3–5 tasks for the day.
3. Assign each task a specific block of time in your day (and stick to it!).

For example:

• 9:00–10:00 AM – Respond to emails / work-related tasks
• 12:30–1:30 PM – Network marketing: Follow-ups, content creation
• 7:00–7:30 PM – Personal development or check-ins with your team

When the time’s up—move on. This helps you avoid burnout and trains your brain to stay focused in short bursts.

3. Create a Distraction-Free Zone (as much as possible)
Look, I get it—you’re working from home. The house is loud, the kids are asking for snacks, and your phone is constantly buzzing.

But if you can create even a small focus zone, it makes a huge difference.
Here are some quick hacks:
• Put your phone on Do Not Disturb during your power hours
• Wear headphones or listen to instrumental music to stay in the zone
• Use tools like Pomodoro timers to work in 25-minute sprints

Even 1–2 hours of focused work can equal 4 hours of distracted multitasking.

4. Batch Your Work
Instead of switching between business tasks and home duties all day long, try batching similar tasks together.
This means:

• Plan all your content for the week in one sitting
• Set aside time for all follow-ups in one block
• Pick a “power hour” to work your network marketing biz fully focused

Batching keeps you from constantly switching gears—and that’s where most of our energy gets drained.

5. Set Boundaries with People Too
This is a big one—especially with family and friends who don’t always “get” that your side hustle is real work.

You might hear:
“Oh, since you’re home, can you run this errand?”
Or, “Why are you on your phone again?”
Here’s the truth: You get to decide what your time is worth.

Communicate your schedule with your loved ones. Let them know you’re building something important. And remember—it’s okay to say no sometimes.

Your business matters. Your goals matter. And setting boundaries doesn’t make you rude—it makes you focused.
